The rani of Jhansi, Rani Laxmi Bai, faced it all, battles, humiliation and victory.
Having been on an escape British forces for three months, on June 17, 1858, Lakshmi Bai, the Rani of Jhansi, stood, taking her last breaths in front of  English pursuers at Scindia’s imposing Gwalior fort.

Manikarnika and Gangadhar Rao, the Raja of Jhansi, adopted Anand Rao after the death of their child, later that year.
After the death of the raja, the Britishers refused to claim their adopted son as the raja and applied the doctrine of lapse.

She was offered a pension of Rs 60,000  and was allowed to live outside the palace.
but Rani of Jhansi was a rebel, she has been giving modern-day goals to everyone.
She requested the governor time and again to change the things but nobody heard her plea. She kept patience and did not take a step then also.
It was quiet later that she took a stand and it is evident from the history how Laxmi bai managed to teach a lesson to everyone who eyed her territory.

Lakshmibai as one of the organisers of the revolt and the first lady to take a stand for independence. She is often referred to as the heroine of independence.
Some considered her  “treacherous Jezebel.” while some thought she was a rebel to be reckoned with. There were many leaders who went against as rebels but for personal reasons but indirectly benefitted the entire nation.
As sen wrote in his book:
“In spite of her best efforts to keep on friendly terms with the British she was driven by tortuous diplomacy to the other camp.”
Which makes her an unwilling, even reluctant, rebel that nobody will ever forget.
