Gumla: Once again, a case of shame to the society has come to light from the Gumla district of Jharkhand. Here, 10 persons with two minor girls committed a heinous act like gang rape. Police have arrested two criminals in the case while another criminal committed suicide in fear of arrest. The police officer said this on Monday.
The same Superintendent of Police Ehtesham Waquarib said that the gang rape took place on the evening of October 15. At the time of the incident, the tribal girls along with their 20-year-old cousin were returning home in the Gurdari police station area after seeing the Vijayadashmi Mela. Meanwhile, 10 criminals on three motorcycles stopped them and made obscene remarks on the girls. The miscreants also assaulted the man for resisting. However, he somehow managed to free himself from their clutches and went to his village for help.
The SP also said that the criminals dragged the two girls to the forest and took turns raping them. Waquarib said they then beat up the girls, took them to another place nearby and raped them again. The brother of the minors immediately went to the village and reported the matter. The villagers rushed to the forest to search for the two girls. Seeing the villagers coming, the miscreants fled leaving the victim girls. The two victims then reached the police station along with the villagers and lodged a report. Both the minors also underwent medical tests.
