Bokoro: On Tuesday evening while the New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express (train no. 22812) was passing from there, a tractor slammed into a railway gate close to the Santhaldih railway crossing, preventing a serious train accident, a railway official.

The tractor became caught between the railway track and the gate during the event, which happened at the Santhaldih railway crossing, close to the Bhojudih railway station.

At the Santhaldih railway crossing of the Bhojudih railway station in the Bokaro district, a tractor struck the closing railway gate. However, the train's driver engaged the brakes, and the train came to a stop, preventing a serious accident, said Manish Kumar, DRM for South Eastern Railway's Adra Division, who spoke to media.The  incidnet happened at around 5 o'clock, and the train was delayed by roughly 45 minutes. He said  the gateman had been suspended, the tractor had been seized, and a FIR had been filed at the relevant police station.

The incident happened just a few days after one of the worst train accidents in American history at the Bahanaga Bazar station in Odisha's Balasore district, which resulted in a collision involving the Bangalore-Howrah Superfast Express, Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a goods train hauling iron, claiming 278 lives and injuring more than 1,100 people.
