Ranchi: Police seized the skeleton of an app cab driver who went missing nearly four months ago from the forest of Seraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand yesterday (Wednesday). The family members of 22-year-old Rahul Srivastava had filed a missing report at MGM police station on August 2. A case under Section 365 of the IPC was registered on October 3.

The station in charge Inspector Mithilesh Kumar said that wrongly imprisoned was filed against unknown people. He said police on Tuesday picked up 22-year-old suspect Sudhir Kumar Sharma and his accomplice Ravindra Mahato, 21, for questioning. The police officer said that Srivastava's mobile phone was also recovered from Sharma. Police said, as a result of interrogation, the two criminals admitted to killing the cab driver by pelting stones on his head near Chandil Dam in the district with the intention of selling the car.

They then allegedly left the body in the forest and fled with the car and mobile phone. Based on their statement, a police team seized the skeleton from the forest, the officer said, and the car has also been found. He said the criminals sent to judicial custody had allegedly taken advance cash from the potential buyer of the vehicle. Further investigation is underway.
