Gumla: Jharkhand is in the grip of drought. The condition of the farmers is deteriorating day by day. With no rain in the province, farmers are facing an economic crisis. This has led to a series of farmers' suicides. The latest case has come from the agricultural district of Gumla, where 55-year-old Shiva Kharia committed suicide. There was a drought in Shiva's farm. She had no money for the young daughter's marriage. Frustrated by this, he hanged himself and committed suicide.

Earlier, Shiva had mortgaged the land for cultivation. His son returned from Goa and rescued the land. Recently, he had dumped paddy in his field. But because of the drought, he ended his life. The case pertains to the Dhedholi Pokhara group of Gumla Sadar block. Shiva Kharia scattered the field with paddy kept in the house. But she embraced death due to drought in the farm and concern over her daughter's marriage. Shiva Kharia has three sons and three daughters. Two daughters are not yet married. It was worrying about him constantly. The son of the deceased says he committed suicide because of the lack of food in the house.

On the other hand, villagers say that Shiva Khadiya was struggling with economic hardship. The first daughter and son were held hostage at the time of their marriage to the farm. When the son and daughter returned from Gujarat and Goa, they paid all the money and rescued the land hostage. But due to lack of good rains, she began to worry about starvation. That's what bothered him to commit suicide.
