Ranchi: During a raid in Palamu district of Jharkhand, police have seized domestic and foreign liquor worth Rs 15 lakh from a godown in Bihar assembly elections. The police arrested 3 persons in this connection. Briefing the case, Shambhu Kumar Singh, a divisional police officer of Chhatarpur, said that the seized liquor was planned to be sent to Aurangabad in Bihar where it was going to be used during the assembly elections.

He said that the said action was taken on the basis of intelligence inputs. He said that in addition to liquor in the said Godown, the food corporation of India's rice bags were also illegally kept. The department of local administration and supplies has been informed in this regard. Police officials said a Bolero car has been confiscated and 3 people have been arrested while the owner of the Godown is absconding.

He said that the Godown panchayat representative is Umesh Sidat and is the head of the Beloudar panchayat. The police searching for him. He said that so far more than 1200 boxes filled with liquor bottles have been confiscated, which have been sent to the divisional headquarter, Chhatarpur through 6 pickup vans.
