New Delhi: Recently, Chief Election Commissioner of India Sunil Arora has said that the Election Commission was fully committed to conduct the elections to the Jharkhand Assembly in a fair and transparent manner. He has done the same on Thursday in a high-level meeting with several senior officials including Chief Secretary of the state DK Tiwari and Director General of Police KN Chaubey.

Where the Election Commission team reached Ranchi on a three-day visit to take stock of the preparations for the Jharkhand Assembly elections, the arrangements being made for the convenience of the voters from the officials present in the meeting and the elections are conducted in a clean, peaceful, fair and transparent manner. Took information about the arrangements being made for The Election Commission team has been present along with Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, Election Commissioners Ashok Lavasa and Sushil Chandra and Deputy Election Commissioner and Chandrabhushan Kumar.

Special Expenditure Observer has been appointed: According to the information received, the Chief Election Commissioner also met with the nodal officers of the Central and State Enforcement Agencies and gave special instructions regarding monitoring of election expenditure. He informed that B. Murali Kumar has been appointed as the special expenditure observer for the Jharkhand Assembly elections. The commission said that illegal cash, liquor, drugs and illegal goods used to influence voters should be strictly monitored. He said that the Commission made several provisions to prevent the use of money power in elections.

It has been learned that the Chief Election Commissioner told that the Election Commission team had come for a three-day visit to review the preparations for the Jharkhand Assembly elections. On the first day, the team of the Commission held a high-level meeting with officials in Jamshedpur and reviewed the election preparations. A meeting with various political parties was held in Ranchi on the second day of the tour i.e. on 20 November 2019. After this, a thorough review of election preparations was done with Divisional Commissioners, Inspector General of Police of Range, District Election Officers of all districts and Superintendents of Police.
