Maruti Suzuki has released a teaser for its forthcoming automobile, the much-anticipated Jimny SUV, through the Nexa social media handle. The slogan for the teaser is "This just in! A thrilling adventure journey may be observed going across many landscapes! "What car is this?" is one question.

For the time being, the teaser shows the car's tyre prints on an off-road/desert road, leading us to think that the car is nothing more than the upcoming Jimny SUV. The 3-door variant of the SUV is manufactured in the company's Manesar, Haryana factory and sold to international markets. India, on the other hand, is expected to get a longer 5-door version of the Jimny, which is currently in development.

Mahindra has previously released the new generation Thar SUV in India, while the new generation Gurkha has just been released. The upcoming Maruti Jimny SUV will compete directly with both extreme off-roaders. Maruti Suzuki Jimny's new India-spec 5-door LWB version is anticipated to hit the market in 2022.

Jimny's international-spec engine is a 1.4-litre mild-hybrid turbocharged petrol, although the 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine might be used in India. The same engine can be found in Maruti's current Vitara Brezza, Ciaz, Ertiga, and XL6 models. This engine is designed to generate 103 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 138 Nm peak torque at 4400 rpm. The engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional 4-speed automatic torque converter transmission may also be offered.
