Jio and Airtel join forces with OnePlus to provide 5G on smartphones

New Delhi: According to OnePlus, customers with the company's 5G-enabled devices can now access 5G services in India. Both flagship models and Nord-branded phones introduced in 2020 or later are on the list of supported devices. The company has partnered with Reliance Jio and Airtel for 5G testing.

To provide 5G services to its customers in India, OnePlus is collaborating with top telecom providers. At the recently concluded India Mobile Congress (IMC) in Delhi, OEMs collaborated with Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vi to highlight the distinct benefits of 5G technology. On OnePlus smartphones, Indian consumers saw a live demonstration of 5G use cases.

In 2020, OnePlus released the 8-series, the first batch of 5G smartphones. According to the manufacturer, 5G will be supported on all smartphones released from 2020. OnePlus 8, 8T, 8 Pro, OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, 9R, 9RT, OnePlus 10, 10T, 10R, OnePlus Nord, CE 2 5G, CE 2 Lite 5G, Nord 2 and 2T are all on the list.

With leading telecom service providers in India, OnePlus users can now avail 5G services.

Both Airtel and Reliance Jio are partners of OnePlus. The former will enable users to use OnePlus 5G devices with standalone (SA) 5G technology. Users will see support for 5G non-standalone (NSA) mode with the latter.
