Patna: Former CM of Bihar and National President of Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM), Jitan Ram Manjhi was sworn in as Protem Speaker today. Governor Fagu Chauhan administered the oath to Manjhi at Raj Bhavan. He will run the House as the Protem Speaker till the election of the Speaker of the Assembly. He has been assigned this responsibility for the first session of the 17th Assembly.

Manjhi will get the newly-elected MLAs sworn in the assembly as a pro tem speaker. After the Bihar Assembly elections 2020, the health ministry in the NDA government under Nitish's leadership has been given to BJP leader Mangal Pandey again. He took charge of the health department today. After assuming office, he said that arranging the sanitation of hospitals would be his priority. Mangal Pandey has also been given charge of the Road Construction Department. He took charge of the Road Construction Department on Wednesday.

After getting a strong majority in Bihar assembly elections 2020, NDA government has been formed under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. In this, portfolios have also been divided among 15 ministers including Nitish.
