New Delhi: Former Congress MP Jitin Prasada has joined the BJP. He suppressed the party in the presence of Railway Minister Piyush Goyal at the BJP headquarters. Jitin Prasada met BJP's Chanakya Amit Shah at his residence before reaching the BJP headquarters. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal was also present with him. Jitin Prasad has been elected as a two-time MP from Uttar Pradesh on a Congress ticket.
Speaking on the occasion, Jitin Prasada thanked BJP President JP Nadda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for joining the party. He said, "This is a new chapter in my life. I have been associated with the Congress Party for 3 generations. I have taken this decision with utmost understanding". He said that today, 'If there is a political party in real terms, it is the BJP. The rest of the parties have become individuals or regions, but if there is a party in the name of the National Party, it is the BJP'.
Jitin Prasada further said that 'the Prime Minister is engaged in the service of the country day and night. He is building a New India, I will get a small chance to make a small contribution to it. The Prime Minister has implemented welfare schemes from village to village, has actually worked for the needy. He said that in the party in which i was there, I realised that we were doing politics. Political experts believe that Jitin Prasada's repression of the BJP is certainly going to give the saffron camp an edge, while it will be a big blow to the Congress.
