SRINAGAR : Jammu and Kashmir (J&K)  lieutenant  Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday expressed worry over the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit by terrorists in South Kashmir's Shopian district.

In a tweet, the lieutenant  Governor said the terrorists responsible for the act would not be spared.

"I am beyond words in pain over the abhorrent terrorist act in Shopian on people. My thoughts are with Sunil Kumar's family. praying for the injured to heal quickly. All parties should strongly denounce the attack. The terrorists who committed the heinous act will not escape from punishment, "The lieutenant  Governor, Jammu and Kashmir officially tweeted.

One person belonging to the minority community recognised as Sunil Kumar was killed and his brother injured after terrorists opened fire on civilians in an orchard at Chotipora area in South Kashmir's Shopian district.

"Terrorists opened fire on people in an apple orchard in the Shopian area of Chotipora. There was one fatality and one injury. Both are members of a minority group. The Person with injury has been taken to the hospital. cordoned-off area, "police said.

Meanwhile, additional police forced have reached the spot and an operation has been commended to caught the attackers.
