Srinagar: Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said in a statement last Saturday, "Two new airport terminals will be set up in Jammu and Kashmir soon.'' In fact, last Saturday, he reached Harwan block in Srinagar district. Here, he spoke a lot during the interaction with DDC, BDC members, PRI locals. He said as a major development "An airport terminal worth Rs 1,500 crore will be set up at 25,000 sq m in Kashmir, while another Airport Terminal worth Rs 650 crore will be set up on 22,000 sq m of land in Jammu.''

At the same time, he added, "Since special attention is being paid to the development of both air road connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir, a major road network including highways, ring roads, tunnels and other projects is being constructed in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.'' He further said, "The development of connectivity will bring more tourists to Jammu and Kashmir and promote local crafts. Promoting tourism crafts will boost the economic activities of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.''

He also said, "Besides other major projects, work on the ring road is in full swing at a cost of Rs 3,000 crores, while 100 per cent of households are being supplied electricity, which has been made possible by the present government.''
