Srinagar: The residents of Dunnadi village of Shopian town of South Kashmir are most happy today. Because after about 70 years of independence, electricity has arrived in their village for the first time. This happiness of the people is not less than any festival. After several efforts of the electricity department and district administration, there is light in their houses today. Expressing gratitude to the government, Muhammad Aslam, who lives in the village, said that since childhood we have not seen electricity in the village.

Further, he said, we had to light a lantern or lamp when it was dark. Children had to study in the light of lamps. Today, the department has shown electricity in a week. We are very thankful to the government for this. Now it seems that just like our homes, the future of children will also be illuminated. Electricity has been provided in these villages under the Prime Minister's Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana.

In this area, the department has installed five big transformers. After the instructions of the central government, the electricity department has completed this work in only 7 days. Today electricity has reached every house in the area. Department official says that there was no light in these far-flung areas. By making fast track work, we have spread the power cables to these villages. Now the villagers will not have to face any kind of problem.
