Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), India's largest Tata Motors group, sold 37,945 units in July, up five percent. Tata Motors has informed the stock exchanges that Jaguar brand vehicles sold 11,386 units and Land Rover brand 26,559 vehicles in July. Jaguar's sales registered a growth of 3.6 percent on a year-on-year basis and Land Rover's sales increased by 5.6 percent.

In his statement, JLR Chief Commercial Officer Felix Brautigam said: "There were good retail sales in the UK in July. There we performed better than the average of the entire car industry. Similarly, in the US, July was its highest ever sales in July. He said sales in China were remarkably better than in July last year."

For your information, the current fiscal for Tata Motors, JLR's parent company, has not been good so far. Tata Motors has also recorded a major decline in domestic sales due to the slowdown of the entire auto sector.
