A few days ago, there was some news about some new rules regarding JNU hostels which were not officially confirmed, since then the students were angry with them and they were protesting but Jawaharlal Nehru University ( JNU) has clarified many things on Friday by issuing an official statement on the student movement. The JNU administration said the rules were being opposed by spreading many rumours.
The JNU administration said that the rules that are being carried out, all of them have been in force for the last 14 years. Under the new rules, facility fees have been imposed along with the increase in hostel fees. According to a statement issued by JNU Registrar Prof Pramod Kumar, the new hostel rules of JNU campuses have been reviewed after 14 years. In which no new rules are being implemented. Till now students living in hostels did not pay electricity-water bills. On which JNU spent a budget of Rs 10 crores, since then its Nahol is under control.
