New Delhi: Kanhaiya Kumar, who is facing allegations of anti-national slogans in Jawaharlal Nehru University, has got a big relief. This relief has come due to the decision of the Kejriwal government of Delhi. In fact, the state government has decided that it will not allow the Delhi Police to run a sedition case in the anti-JNU anti-slogan case.

Delhi Home Minister Satyendra Jain has given his opinion in this case, saying that the evidence presented by the police does not lead to sedition case against Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid, and other accused students. Significantly, anyone has to take the permission of the state government to prosecute treason. The court cannot take cognizance only on the charge sheet of the police.

The case of treason will be canceled if the government does not approve it. In this case of 2016, JNU alumni president Kanhaiya Kumar and nine people have been booked for sedition. According to the news that is coming now, the Delhi government will not allow prosecuting the case of treason against Kanhaiya Kumar and others. In fact, it is mandatory to get the permission of the Delhi government.

Experts say that the court will not take cognizance of the sedition section in the charge sheet until the Delhi government's permission. If the Delhi government did not give permission, the sedition section would automatically end. Kanhaiya Kumar also contested on the CPI ticket in this Lok Sabha election. But he did not succeed.
