New Delhi: In the sedition case, several accused including former Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNU) President and Communist Party (CPI) leader Kanhaiya Kumar, Anirban appeared before the Patiala House Court. The court summoned 10 accused including Kanhaiya Kumar to appear on Monday after taking cognizance of the charge sheet of the case. Omar Khalid, accused in the case, is imprisoned.

The case was heard in Patiala House Court. The court's lawyers, Kanhaiya Kumar, Anirban Bhattacharya, Aqib Hussain, Mujib Hussain Gutu, Munib Hussain Gutu, Umar Gul, Raees Rasool, Basharat Ali, and Khalid Bashir Bhatt appeared before the court. The court on Monday directed all the accused to supply the charge sheet of the case. Kanhaiya Kumar's lawyer appealed for further exemption from the hearing, but the court refused to exempt hearing on the stage.

The court will scrap the charge sheet on April 7. The charge sheet was filed by the police without the arrest of Aqib Hussain, Mujib Hussain Gutu, Muneeb Hussain Gutu, Umar Gul, Raees Rasool, Basharat Ali, and Khalid Bashir Bhatt after which the court granted bail to the accused on a bond of Rs 25-25,000 on filing the bail plea. In the JNU rally led by Kanhaiya Kumar cried, 'Bharat you will be in pieces Inshallah... Inshallah', 'Till India's ruin... Rust will run.. ' 'If you kill an Afzal, there will be an Afzal from every house", there were anti-country slogans like 'Afzal we are ashamed, your murderer is alive.'
