A massive fire broke out on the permanent set of Jodhaa Akbar film made in 2008. The set at ND Studios in Karjat on May 7 . The blaze, which allegedly began turn the entire set into ashes has been controlled.  

 The entire set has been gutted in fire, however, no casualties have been reported so far. Fire department was called and several fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. This set was erected for Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan's film. The movie direction was made by Ashutosh Gowariker. Later, Ekta Kapoor's historical drama, Jodha Akbar, was also shot here between 2013 and 2014. The show starred Rajat Tokas and Paridhi Sharma in lead roles. No casualties have been reported since no shoot was happening due to the lockdown in Maharashtra. The reason of sudden fire eruption was caused because of a fire on the railway tracks that touches the walls of the studios.

The Jodha Akbar set was converted into a permanent set for visitors. The studio is owned by a popular art director, Nitin films and TV shows have been shot in this studio. Recently an OTT app ALTBalaji's Paurashpur was shot here where Annu Kapoor and Shilpa Shinde where in lead roles.
