Meaia reports quoted White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre as saying that Biden "will continue to be updated regularly as information becomes available." "His prayers are with the families affected by this terrible occurrence," White House press secretary Jean-Pierre said. "Biden will address this evening when he returns to the White House."
According to officials, a gunman opened fire at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday, killing at least 14 students and one teacher. Salvador Ramos, 18, was recognised as the offender and was believed to have been neutralised by responding authorities.
According to a proclamation, Biden has directed that all flags at the White House, federal buildings, and military facilities be flown at half-staff "as a mark of respect for the victims of senseless acts of violence.
