Washington: US President Joe Biden has made a major statement after Afghanistan's recent crisis and the Taliban's capture of Kabul. He said he and his team are monitoring the entire activities. He recalled how the US entered Afghanistan in 2001 to nab the 9/11 convicts so that al-Qaeda could not use Afghan soil against the US.
Biden said the US succeeded in its goal and al-Qaeda was completely restricted. He recalled how the US continued its search for Osama Bin Laden and finally killed him. He said that it was a decade ago. He said the US Afghanistan mission was never there to establish a unified and centralized democracy or to build a country.
The US President further said that the US mission in Afghanistan had only one goal – To prevent attacks on the US. He said that he has always been in favor of our mission against terrorism, not suppressing insurgency or nation-building. He said there is no better time to withdraw the US army. He described it as a right decision and said that why should the US army go and lose its life in a war when Afghanistan's army does not want to fight and is laying down its arms without fighting?
