Johnny Depp has suffered a "painful" ankle injury, the actor and his band Hollywood Vampires shared on social media. In a statement, Johnny Depp said he has been advised to avoid "all activity for the moment".
"It started out as a hairline break, but between Cannes and the Royal Albert Hall, it got worse instead of better. I've been strongly advised by several medical professionals to stop doing anything right now, so I'm regrettably unable to travel at this time, the actor-musician stated.
The forthcoming three performances of their US tour will be rescheduled, said Depp's rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires, which also includes Joe Perry of Aerosmith and Alice Cooper. All tickets will remain valid for the new dates.
"Johnny has a serious ankle injury from his recent performances, and his doctor has advised against travelling. He is heartbroken by this change of events, but he is looking forward to taking some time to recover so that all four vampires will be at their best for the tour in Europe, the statement read
The performances, which were previously slated for May 30, May 31, and June 1, have been moved to July 28, 29, and 30. The group will give performances in Boston, Bethel, New York, and Manchester, New Hampshire.
The report comes as Depp visited the 2023 Cannes Film Festival to promote his upcoming film Jeanne du Barry, which will be his first feature film since defeating his ex-wife Amber Heard in a well-publicized defamation lawsuit.
