Dehradun: Police have arrested a Joint Secretary of Delhi for allegedly molesting a minor girl in Uttarakhand's Almora. The joint secretary of the Delhi Secretariat, accused of molesting the teenager, has been arrested by the Almora police. The accused will be produced before the court today.

A class 11 student from Delhi lodged a complaint with the revenue police in Almora on Monday. The teenager had alleged that AV Premnath, joint secretary posted at the Delhi Secretariat, had brought the victim to his Pleasant Valley Foundation at Dandakanda in Almora. The student alleged that AV Premnath molested her. She was pressured in many ways. Also, WhatsApp and text messages were also sent to her several times.
On the complaint of the victim, the revenue police registered a case against AV Premnath on Monday night under 7/8 POCSO, 354 and IT Act and transferred the case to the regular police. At the same time, SSP Pradeep Kumar Rai has said that the accused of molestation has been arrested by Ranikhet police. Further action is now being taken in the matter. The police will produce the accused in court and then he will be sent to jail from there.
