New Delhi [India], Feb 27 (NT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the King Abdullah II of Jordan, who is on a three-day visit to India. He arrived on Tuesday and at the airport in Delhi.

The King is accompanied by a business delegation.

Here are 10 facts to be King Abdullah II of Jordan in India.

1. According to Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), during Jordanian King’s India visit, "the two sides will discuss the entire gamut of bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest."

2.Apart from official talks by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind  a banquet in the King's honour on March 1 will be hosted.

3.Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will call on the visiting dignitary Jordanian King.

4.The MEA also stated that on February 28, King Abdullah will pay visit to IIT Delhi to explore collaboration with Jordan technical institutes.

5."During the day, the King will also participate in a CEO Round-table followed by India-Jordan Business Forum jointly organized by FICCI, CII and ASSOCHAM."

6.During the visit, His Majesty is scheduled to participate in a session titled “Islamic Heritage: Promoting Harmony and Coexistence” and deliver his address  on March 1,  will be organized by India Islamic Center.

7. MEA talking head Raveesh Kumar  said , “India welcomes His Majesty @KingAbdullahII Ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of #Jordan on his State Visit. Deviating from protocol, PM @narendramodi welcomes His Majesty at the Airport. India attaches great importance to its ties with Jordan. #DelhiAmman,” he tweeted.

8.King Abdullah’s meetings in New Delhi will cover means to bolster Jordanian-Indian relations in economic, commercial, and investment fields, as well as current regional and international developments.

9. The King is to attend the Jordanian-Indian Business Forum, in which businesspeople, investors, and company representatives from the two countries are participating.

10. During the visit, the both nations are expected to ink  MoUs/Agreements in diverse areas of bilateral ties.(NT)
