Joshimath-Malari highway met with an accident near Reni village for about 20 metres. The road has been damaged following heavy rains on Sunday night, which has cut off the villages of Niti Valley from the country and the world. The water level of the River Rishi Ganga has increased even more, causing fear and suffering to the villagers of the area. Army movement in the China border area has also been disrupted due to the crash of the highway. The recently established bailey bridge on the Rishi Ganga by BRO side is also becoming increasingly under threat from the river. Badrinath National Highway has been closed between Kaudiyala-Vyasi. Traffic from Maletha and Devprayag has been diverted to Tehri route. The route has been closed since morning due to debris coming in. According to PWD and National Highway, the road is scheduled to open by late Monday evening.
