New Delhi: China is busy removing domes and minarets from mosques in its country. People are now seen targeting India's Muslim-friendly and Communist Party leaders over China's move. China has started removing Arab-style features from mosques in recent times. A drive is underway to break it and rebuild it to show it as more 'Chinese.'

The "Sinicization" campaign is underway in Jining, also known as Sining. The area is the capital of Qinghai province in China, where Muslims from the Hui community live. Journalist Anant Vijay has attacked the Communist Party of India (Marxist). In a tweet, he said, "The Left Government of China is removing the domes and minarets of mosques in the country. This is being done in the name of cultural integration. In the meeting of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (M), no one even discussed it (if any, make it public). As soon as China's name comes up, the flag bearers turn away.''

According to the media, the dongguan mosque has changed several times in its 700 years in China's northwestern city of Jining. Built in the style of a Chinese royal palace earlier, with tiled roofs and domes, and adorned with Buddhist symbols, the mosque was almost destroyed by neglect during political turmoil in the early 20th century. In the 1990s, authorities replaced the original ceramic tiles on the roof and minarets with green domes. This year, provincial officials demolished those domes.
