Lucknow: Political turmoil in the states has increased considerably due to assembly elections meanwhile, Pawan Kashyap, brother of journalist Raman Kashyap, who was killed in the recent Lakhimpur violence, has joined the Congress. According to reports, Congress is likely to field Pawan Kashyap from the Nighasan assembly seat in the Uttar Pradesh elections 2022. Nasimuddin Siddiqui and Satish Ajmani of the Congress party gave congress membership to Pawan Kashyap, brother of journalist Raman Kashyap, who was killed in the Lakhimpur violence.

District President of the Congress party Lakhimpur Prahlad Patel said that Pawan Kashyap, brother of journalist Raman Kashyap, who was killed in Lakhimpur violence, has been given the membership of the Congress but nothing has been decided on the ticket. It has been reported that the high command will take a decision on this. A total of 8 persons including 4 farmers lost their lives in Lakhimpur. Raman Kashyap (age 35) worked with Sadhana News Channel. In Lakhimpur, some farmers were run over by a speeding vehicle, after which the protesters got agitated. Several vehicles were blown up and the occupants were severely beaten up. 4 of the crushed farmers had lost their lives. Police have currently filed a charge sheet in the incident. Uttar Pradesh Police has prepared a charge sheet containing 5,000 pages and 208 witnesses.
