Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, an incident of assault on a journalist by the security personnel of a hospital in Bhopal has come to light. According to the news, the family of Govind Gurjar was returning from Dewas to Bhopal after attending the wedding program late on Monday night, when his car overturned after coming down from the highway at around 3 pm. Five persons including Govind's wife and both daughters were injured in the case. All have been admitted to a private hospital in Bhopal for treatment.
It is alleged that the guards stopped the journalist from going to the hospital, after which, there was a dispute. BJP spokesperson Lokendra Parashar tweeted that the incident that happened with Bhopal-based journalist Govind Gurjar has been taken seriously. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Home Minister Narottam Mishra have given instructions to gather complete information about the matter and take appropriate action. The offender will not be spared. The same Govind Gurjar had gone to Khargone for coverage, when he got the news of the matter, he left for Bhopal at night.
Reaching Bhopal on Tuesday morning, Govind met the admitted wife, daughters and relatives at the hospital. Thereafter, he came out of the hospital to collect the goods but when he went back to the hospital, the guards stopped him. There was a fight between the two over this. After that the beatings started. The guards have been accused of brutally thrashing the journalist. In the video released by the journalist, blood is seen coming out of Govind's nose and mouth. Soon after the assault, a video has gone viral, in which the journalist is pleading with the guards to meet his wife and children in the hospital, but the guards are escaping him from the hospital.
