JP Nadda says India aims to eliminate tuberculosis by 2025

Dangerous tuberculosis will be eliminated from India by 2025, as today India pledged its commitment and death rates will decrease by 90% by 2030.

Union Health Minister J P Nadda at the9th meeting of Stop TB Partnership coordination committee said, "India has formulated a national strategic plan with a special focus on stamping out the bactrial disease at grassroot levels. Nadda is representing India in the meeting at Berlin."

Nadda further added, "we have implemented daily drug regimen for treating tuberculosis (TB) in five states and by the year end it will be rolled out in the entire country. The new regimen helps in reducing relapse rates and the number of drug-resistant TB cases. Nadda further said that the government will frame special programmes to combat multidrug-resistant TB."
