JSQM chief Sunan Qureshi and other national leaders also addressed the gathering gathered on the occasion. He cited the threat of Sindhi language and culture as the main reason for his demands. At the same time, the Sindhi community says that Sindh is a separate country in itself, but Pakistan has forcibly occupied it. The demand for creating an independent Sindhudesh from Pakistan was first raised in 1972 by Sindhi leader GM Saeed. After the death of GM Saeed in 1995, a separate party Jai Sindh Koumi Mahaj (JSQM) was formed with the intention of continuing the movement of Sindhudesh.
