Islamabad: A civil judge has been arrested for raping a woman on Friday (26 November 2021) from Lower Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. According to the report, confirming the arrest, Lower Dir District Police Officer (DPO) Irfanullah Khan told that the victim was recovered from the official residence of Jamshed Kundi, Senior Civil Judge of the Lower Court. According to reports, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) has suspended the civil judge. The judicial magistrate has remanded him to one day remand in police custody.

An FIR was lodged against the judge at Balambat police station on Thursday night (November 25, 2021) following a complaint by the victim. Kundi has been booked under Section 376 (Rape) of pakistan penal code. The Peshawar woman said in her complaint that the justice had asked her for Rs 15 lakh three months ago on the pretext of getting her sister a job, but she did not have that much money, so she had given two gold necklaces, bangles and earrings worth Rs 15 lakh to the accused.

According to the report, Judge Kundi called her on the morning of November 25, 2021 and said he had not been able to get her sister a job. He asked the victim to come to his residence in Balambat area of Lower Dir so that he could return her money. When the woman reached the judge's official residence, she asked the victim to have sex to return the money. When she refused, Kundi forced her and did not return her money. The victim then lodged her complaint against the judge at the police station. DPO Khan said the victim has been sent for medical test. Another officer posted at Balambat police station told the media that the medical report confirmed that the complainant was raped and further investigation is on in the case.
