Los Angeles: Marvel's much-awaited 'Fantastic Four' movie is set to bring the iconic superhero quartet into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). After the merger of 20th Century Fox with The Walt Disney Company in 2019, fans have been eagerly anticipating the debut of Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, and Ben Grimm aka the Thing in the MCU.

Emmy-winning actor Julia Garner has been chosen by Marvel Studios to portray the role of Silver Surfer in the upcoming Fantastic Four film. Garner, acclaimed for her performances in shows like Ozark and The Americans, as well as the feature film The Assistant, will join Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn in the cast. The movie will be directed by Matt Shakman.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Garner's character is named Shalla-Bal, a version of Silver Surfer known from Marvel comics. The inclusion of Silver Surfer adds another layer of excitement for fans awaiting the MCU debut of Fantastic Four.

Previously, the character of Silver Surfer was portrayed by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne in 2007's 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.'

Matt Shakman, renowned for his work on WandaVision, will helm 'The Fantastic Four' from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer.

Marvel Studios has slated the release of 'The Fantastic Four' for July 25, 2025. Fans can't wait to witness the new era of Marvel superheroes on the big screen.
