Vidyut Jammwal and Pooja Sawant starrer Junglee is performing well at the box-office. The film has managed to perform well at the ticket windows. The film ended its opening week on a decent note by raking in Rs 21.20 crore.
Despite the stiff competition from Akshay Kumar Kesari the film managed to attrack the audience. The Single screens and mass centres have been the major contributors to Junglee's box office figures. Critics have given the film mixed reviews, praising its action scenes, martial arts, and stunts performed by Jammwal himself.
Junglee revolves around veterinary doctor Raj (played by Vidyut Jammwal), who returns to his father's elephant reserve to protect them. He masters the art of Kalaripayattu to fight the poachers. The film was earlier supposed to be directed by Rohan Sippy but later emerged as the Bollywood directorial debut of Western filmmaker Chuck Russellwho is known for delivering hits like The Mask, Eraser and The Scorpion King. The film also stars Asha Bhat, Atul Kulkarni, Makarand Deshpande, Akshay Oberoi and Vishwanath Chatterjee in key roles.
