Big news about land acquisition law, Justice Arun Mishra refuses to recuse from Constitution Bench

The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that Justice Arun Mishra will not be separated from hearing in the Constitution Bench of the case challenging the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act. A five-judge constitution bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra ruled and said that I am not rescuing from hearing the case.

Farmers' organizations have objected to Justice Mishra's involvement in the hearing of the case, arguing that he had already given his opinion in the judgment delivered by the apex court in February last year.

Other members of the Constitution bench include Justice Indira Banerjee, Justice Vineet Saran, Justice MR Shah and Justice S Ravindra Bhatt. The parties to the case have been asked by the Constitution Bench to present legal questions on which the court will give its verdict. This Court will hear appropriate compensation and transparency in the law.
