New Delhi. There is a big change in the Supreme Court of the country today as the Chief Justice of the country got a new face. Actually, today means on Wednesday, October 3rd Justice Ranjan Gogoi sworn in as Chief Justice of the country as Justice Deepak Mishra was off for this post. This swearing-in ceremony of Justice Ranjan Gogoi was held today at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Here, the country's 14th President Ramnath Kovand administrated oath at 10:45 in the morning. In this way Justice Ranjan Gogoi is the 46th Chief Justice of the country. At the same time, he is the first Chief Justice of Northeast India to get this position. Significantly, his tenure will last till November 17, 2019.

It is notable that Born on December 18, 1954 in Dibrugarh in Assam, Justice Gogoi's early education was held from Don Vasco School and he got college educations from Kattan College of Guwahati. He studied law from Delhi University (DU). He started his advocacy career in the Guwahati High Court in 1978. He was appointed on April 23, 2012 as a judge of the Supreme Court.
