Lucknow: National General Secretary of the Congress Party and Jyotiraditya Scindia in charge of Western UP said on Friday that the Congress will be strengthened in the state and preparations will be made to fight the 2022 assembly elections on its own. Jyotiraditya told the press after the Lok Sabha seat-wise review that " strengthening the Congress is our only priority. The 2022 assembly elections will prepare to fight on their own strength."

On the question of Making Priyanka Gandhi the face of the CM, Scindia said it will be decided by the party leadership. Scindia has said, "The election results that have come out are not at all satisfactory. Further strategy will be determined by taking the opinion of the activists. Now the workers will have to leave the debacle and mobilize for the mission 2022." The booth will decide on restructuring the organization up to the level. Good candidates will be decided further."

Earlier, Scindia reviewed the Lok Sabha seat-wise poll results for about six-and-a-half hours. He held a meeting of two Lok Sabha seats simultaneously. It was attended by state Congress unit president Raj Babbar and Scindia-affiliated secretary Rohit Chaudhary and Endurance Gurjar. At the meetings, district-city presidents spoke of non-coordination of local organizations by outside candidates.
