Ahmedabad: Big news is coming out of Una in Gujarat that Kajal Hindustani, a woman who gave a provocative speech on the occasion of Ram Navami, has been arrested by the police. Communal riots took place in Una after Kajal Hindustani's provocative speech. The police had registered a case against Kajal Hindustani, but she had been absconding for the last few days. Kajal surrendered at the Veraval police station on Sunday, after which she was arrested.

Right-wing activist Kajal Hindustani was arrested on Sunday in Gujarat's Gir Somnath district for allegedly delivering an inflammatory speech on Ram Navami, police said. His statement had led to communal clashes in Una town on April 1. A police officer said that Kajal had surrendered before the police in Una on Sunday morning. Thereafter, he was arrested. After being produced in court, he has been sent to judicial custody.

Kajal Hindustani describes herself as an entrepreneur, researcher, social worker, and nationalist woman. Kajal has more than 92,000 followers on social media and participates in events organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. On March 30, Kajal Hindustani gave an inflammatory speech at a meeting organised by the VHP on Ram Navami. Two days later, on April 2, the police registered a case against Kajal under Section 295A (intentional and malicious act intended to hurt religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code.
