The fast of Kajari Teej is being celebrated on 18th August this time and mainly this fast of married women is celebrated every year on the third day of the Krishna side of the Bhadra month. On this day, women worship Kajari Mata in the form of Goddess Parvati and wish her husband longevity. On this day, unmarried girls also celebrate this festival to wish them a good life. At the same time, the festival is celebrated mainly in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and on the occasion of Kajari Teej, women fast all day long and then offer prayers to them after the rise of the moon in the evening. At the same time, in many areas it is also called Kajali Teej. So today we are going to tell you the story of Kajari Teej without which this fast is considered incomplete.

According to the legend of Kajari Teej, there was a poor Brahmin living in a village. His condition was such that there was no money to eat two meals. One day, the wife of the Brahmin resolved to fast for Kajari Teej and asked her husband to bring chana sattu for the fast. The Brahmins were upset that they did not have enough money, and from where did they bring Sattu. However, the Brahmins reached the moneylender's shop. There he saw that the moneylender was sleeping. So the Brahmin secretly went to the shop to bring Sattu. So the moneylender woke up and saw the Brahmin. He grabbed the Brahman and started shouting burglars.

The Brahmin then said that he was not a thief and was carrying only 12.5 kg of sattu. The Brahmin said that his wife had fasted for Kajari Teej and that he needed pooja material. So he's only taken Sattu. Hearing this, the moneylender checks Brahmin and found nothing right. Seeing this, the moneylender's eyes became moist. He told the Brahmin that from now on he would treat his wife as a sister. The moneylender then gave away money and belongings to the Brahmins. It is said that fasting on this day fulfills all desires and prolongs the lifespan of the husband.
