Kamakhya Vidyalaya in Guwahati, Containment Zone declared, Principal positive

GUWAHATI: Kamrup (M) district administration has declared the school as a micro-containment zone for the next seven days, after the principal of Kamakhya Vidyalaya High School in Guwahati tested positive for COVID-19. According to reports, the principal is currently admitted in a private hospital in the city.

According to the order issued by the district administration on October 28, the declaration of containment zones will be effective from October 28 and will continue till November 4. In order to take measures against the spread of coronavirus among staff and students, the school will remain closed. Most of the school teachers were compulsorily required to undergo COVID 19 test on Thursday as per the instructions of Kamrup (M) district administration.

Among the voters, a senior school teacher told that on Friday, along with the students of the school, the remaining teachers will also be tested, who are yet to be tested. On September 19, physical classes resumed from class I in all educational institutions across the state. The Assam government had issued the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) according to which special days were allotted for particular classes to avoid overcrowding of students on the campus of an institute.
