Bhopal: Just few days left to 2019 general elections, and all the politicial parties are taking important decision regarding it. Election is set to be held from April 29 to May 19 in Madhya Pradesh, speculations are rife if the former chief minister and senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh will contest the Lok Sabha polls or not. However, Chief Minister Kamal Nath has made it clear that said if Digvijaya wants to contest then he'll have to do from the "toughest seat".

According to the reports, party might consider fielding Singh from Bhopal, where Congress hasn't won in the last 30 years. Kamal Nath said, "I have requested Digvijaya Singh that if he wants to contest Lok Sabha polls, then he should do so from the toughest seat. There are 2-3-4 seats from where we have not won elections since the last 30-35 years,"

Talking about Bhopal seat, it is held by BJP MP Alok Sanjar who had registered a landslide victory securing more than 60% vote share. In 2014, Congress' PC Sharma had tried his luck from the seat but could only manage 3 lakh votes, 50% less when compared to votes polled by Sanjar.

Senior leader Digvijaya's name is being considered given the fact that two Assembly segments out of the eight under Bhopal parliamentary constituency are represented by Singh's loyalists. PC Sharma and Arif Masood representing Bhopal Dakshin-Paschim and Bhopal Madhya respectively are considered loyal to Singh.
