The US Vice President Kamala Harris, currently running for president against Republican Donald Trump, is highlighting her leadership as a fresh approach for the nation. In her campaign, Harris promises to bring a "new generation of leadership" and advocates for policies like expanding the child tax credit to support young families during their child’s first year of life.

During a recent interview, Harris addressed key differences between herself and President Joe Biden, stating, "I’m obviously not Joe Biden. I offer a new generation of leadership." She stressed the importance of innovative policies and forward-thinking strategies to address current and future challenges.

Harris also criticized Trump’s leadership, calling it divisive and exhausting for the American public. She emphasized her belief that most Americans desire unity and a leader who brings the country together, rather than fostering division.

Touching on gun control, Harris clarified that while she supports the Second Amendment, she advocates for a ban on assault-style weapons. She views this as a necessary step toward public safety.

Despite criticisms from Trump and other Republicans for avoiding media interactions, Harris is set to engage in more interviews, including an upcoming session with the National Association of Black Journalists.

Harris also reflected on her personal life, sharing how important family is to her. She fondly mentioned missing Sunday family dinners and noted that her best friend from kindergarten remains her closest companion.
