WASHINGTON: US Vice President Kamala Harris slammed the Texas school shooting in an impassioned speech on Wednesday, urging for "action and taking a stance." "It's time to stop. As a country, we must have the confidence to act and stand up for what we believe in "She described the attack as a "heartbreaking tragedy."

She challenged everyone in the meeting of American leaders to grasp the link between what makes for reasonable and pragmatic public policy in order to prevent something like this from happening again.  She expressed compassion for the people of Uvalde and condoled the deceased, stating, "We stand with you and cry with you."

Meanwhile, Jill Biden, the First Lady, reacted to the situation by remarking, "Lord, enough." "Stunned. Angry. Brokenhearted, "In a tweet, she stated. According to reports, the death toll from the shooting at a Texas elementary school has risen to 21, including 19 children and two adults.  On Tuesday, an 18-year-old gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, killing 14 children and one teacher. The gunman was also killed.

According to sources, this is the deadliest incident since the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, which killed 17 people.
