Kamala or Trump? Peter Thiel Says One Side Will Fail Dramatically Before 2024 Election

Billionaire and tech mogul Peter Thiel has made a bold prediction about the upcoming 2024 U.S. presidential election, asserting that it will not be a close race. Speaking at "The All-In Summit" earlier this month, Thiel suggested that either Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump will win decisively, predicting a major political collapse from one side before the election.

"My one contrarian view on the election is that it's not going to be close," said Thiel, emphasizing that most presidential elections are not typically close. He reflected on the 2016 and 2020 elections, which were unusually tight, but pointed out that historically, two-thirds of elections are not closely contested.

Thiel speculated that the "Kamala bubble might burst" or that Trump’s voters could become demotivated, leading one side to falter. "One side is simply going to collapse in the next two months," he remarked.

Although Thiel is widely known for his support of Trump, he has stepped back from financial involvement in the 2024 election. Despite pressure from various quarters, including GOP figures like JD Vance, Thiel has refrained from contributing financially to this year's race. However, he remains a vocal supporter of Trump and Vance, expressing his continued backing in non-monetary ways.

"I am still very strongly pro-Trump, pro-JD," Thiel said, adding that while he has chosen not to donate politically, he supports them in other ways.

Thiel expressed skepticism about the impact of political spending, especially in a landslide election. He suggested that if the election is close, there may be efforts by Democrats to "cheat" through tactics such as ballot harvesting or election-rule changes. He proposed reforms to U.S. elections, advocating for a single day of voting, minimal absentee ballots, and stricter voter ID laws.

The Harris campaign has not yet commented on Thiel’s claims.
