On Friday, 25-year-old Kamalpreet Kaur qualifies for Tokyo Olympics.  Let us share that Kamalpreet is railway athlete and qualify for Olympics. While qualify for Tokyo Olympics she also set a new senior national record in discus throw with an attempt of 65.06m in the ongoing Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships in Patiala.

Here it is to be noted that  Kamalpreet Kaur is the first Indian women to mark this 65m point in discus throw. By doing so  she comfortably overhauled the Olympic qualification benchmark of 63.5m thus qualifying for the summer Olympics in Tokyo this year. Previously, national record holder was Krishna Poonia. His record was a 64.76m throw. He broke Seema Antil’s NR of 64.64 meters.

Talking about other games qualifies in Olympics, While Gurmeet Singh set a new meet record in hammer throw, Hima Das won the battle between a star and the new kid on the track in 23.21 seconds in 200m, bettering Dhanalakshmi’s 23.26 meet record set on Thursday.
