The author of the 1988 novel The Satanic Verses, Salman Rushdie was attacked right before he was about to give a lecture in western New York.  As soon as the news broke people started commenting on their views. Kangana Ranaut is very vocal about these incidents.

The actress recently took the social media to share a newspaper article and wrote,  “Another day another appalling act by Jihadis, The Satanic Verses is one of the greatest books of its time.”  The actor further added, “I am shaken beyond words.. appalling…" 

Meanwhile, Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar also condemned the “barbaric attack” on Salman Rushdie and tweeted, “I condemn the barbaric attack on Salman Rushdie by some fanatic. I hope that NY police and the court will take the strongest action possible against the attacker .”

One of the renowned actors Tasleema Nasreen wrote, "I just learned that Salman Rushdie was attacked in New York. I am really shocked. I never thought it would happen. He has been living in the West, and he has been protected since 1989. If he is attacked, anyone who is critical of Islam can be attacked. I am worried,"

A recent source speaking about the condition of Salman Rushdie said, “The news is not good. Salman will likely lose one eye; the nerves in his arm were severed; his liver was stabbed and damaged.”

About the Barbaric incident

Popular author Salman Rushdie was stabbed during an event recently. The author was reportedly stabbed in the neck and torso onstage during a lecture in New York on Friday (August 12). This incident sent shock waves across the globe and many people have been sharing their thoughts on the same through social media. As per the recent reports, Salman Rushdie was allegedly stabbed by a man who was identified as Hadi Matar, a 24-year-old guy. The alleged accused was arrested by a state trooper at the scene.
