Kanpur: Violence erupts suddenly after Friday prayers, police suspect radical organization PFI

Kanpur: Police is on alert in Beknaganj area after violence instigated by Muslim mob after Friday prayers in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. A large number of police forces, including the Kanpur Police Commissioner, are marching on foot from the main road to the streets. Talking to the media, the Kanpur Police Commissioner said that the conspiracy behind the violence in Kanpur, the radical Islamist organization Popular Front of India (PFI) or any other organization, is also being investigated.

Police Commissioner Vijay Singh Meena said that, after talking to the administration, the organization that announced the Kanpur bandh withdrew the call, but the violence broke out suddenly. Let us inform that some local leaders including Hayat Zafar Hashmi, president of MMA Johar Fans Association, had announced a bandh in Kanpur. The police officer said that no conspirator or organization involved in the incident will be spared. We have identified the rioters on the basis of CCTV footage and now arrests are being made.

Let us inform that in the Kanpur violence case, the police have registered 3 FIRs. Out of these, 2 have been lodged by the police while one on behalf of the injured person. In the FIR, 40 named and about 1000 unknown people have been made accused. At the same time, a total of 35 people have been arrested so far.
