Lucknow: In the case of communal violence that took place on June 3, 2022, in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the police have imposed National Security Act-NSA on Zafar Hayat Hashmi, the main accused. Along with this, action has been taken against builder Vasi, Baba Biryani owner Mukhtar, Aqeel and Shafiq, who funded the violence, under the Gangster Act. Police Commissioner Vijay Meena had collected all the evidence and sent it to Kanpur Nagar DM Visakh 4 days ago for imposing NSA on Hashmi.
After this, DM Visakh allowed Hashmi to take action under NSA. Police Commissioner Meena said that the manner in which the communal atmosphere was disturbed by the violence on June 3, 2022, the police took strict action and arrested 60 people. Action has been taken under the Gangster Act against 4 accused of crowdfunding in this violence, including the owner of Baba Biryani. At the same time, DM Visakh said that Kanpur Police Commissioner Vijay Singh Meena had sent a proposal to impose NSA on the jailed Hayat Zafar Hashmi. The DM further said that he has sent the proposal to the state government for approval.
