Many women, across the globe, have stepped in the male-dominated world of politics and created their own space. Boldly scaling new heights and transforming the world, the powerful women have also inspired others, giving them hope and the power to dream. So when it comes to female leadership and empowerment, modern-day icons like Kanta Gwala quickly come to mind. Kanta, is the first woman to serve as female student union president in Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur in the year 2017. Currently she is linked with the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI). She completed degree courses in B.TECH, civil Engineering and then also pursued MBA from JNVU, Jodhpur. She continues to vie for democracy in her country. She strives for promoting student’s rights in developing nations. Since coming into office, some of her main efforts were regarding the best study approach for students.  She's also helping the fund support female employment in order to avoid poverty and inequality. She has been seen supporting democracy, promoting human rights and denouncing irregularity of process in university.

In person Kanta is a very fun loving and jolly personality who has ensured enthusiasm among the university students by organizing fresher’s party and celebrity nights where India's top sensational singer Hardy Sandhu was the chief guest. When asked about how long women have come in politics, Kanta believes that women empowerment and equality are some of the hot topics discussed whenever a gender debate crops up. While there still seems to be a long way to go when it comes to equality in society, there is still a substantial amount of progress that the India has seen in the past couple of years. Looking into her hard work and achievements it can be said that she certainly aims to become powerful and influential women political leaders in the nation.  This woman has become an equally powerful reminder of what is worth fighting for.

She has spoken in favor of people’s right to self-identify, saying, “It’s not my job to identify people. It’s everyone’s job to identify them. She has always supported ending unequal treatment to students in educational institutes and ensures that everybody can define who they are and live as they choose. For kanta it is not necessary to be the boss to lead the people, one can be in a leadership role in any seat that he is sitting in. Unlike their male counterparts, female political leaders often serve short terms and are rarely able to stay in power for long. But Kanta Gwala is an exception to it. She is still working actively and passionately. She believes that if a person is passionate about his dreams, nothing can stop him from ruling the universe.

In 2021, the wage gap may still exist between men and women - and even more so between different racial groups, but with movements such as MeToo and more women involved in politics than ever before, women are also more powerful than ever. Women’s participation in politics will always make a nation move closer to the true meaning of equal justice under law.
