After Chardham, the business of Kanwar Yatra has got corona effect. This time due to the Covid epidemic, the tourism business has suffered a setback due to the postponement of the Kanwar Yatra. The tourism business has completely collapsed due to the epidemic. Shiva devotees will not be able to travel to Kanwar this time due to corona infection. Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have agreed to postpone the Kanwar yatra in view of the epidemic. Due to which, crores of rupees will not be traded. There is a tourism business of 1200 crores in the state from the six-month travel season. It also includes Kanwar business of about two hundred crores. Millions of Shiva devotees come to the pilgrimage town of Haridwar and Rishikesh to take holy Ganga water and take water to the pagoda of their respective areas by taking Ganga water. Even after the opening of the kapat, the Chardham Yatra has not started in its form.

The government has allowed local people to visit in limited numbers. But the hotel, restaurant, taxi, and other businesses resulting from Chardham Yatra are completely out of order. The tourism epidemic has caused maximum damage to the tourism business. Tourism is also the backbone of the state's economy. On the other hand, the postponement of Kanwar Yatra will definitely affect the tourism business. Department-wise assessment of which area has been damaged so far by the epidemic. Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have also agreed to postpone the Kanwar Yatra this time. The government will take a final decision only after negotiating with other states on the Kanwar Yatra. Due to the postponement of the Chardham Yatra and now the Kanwar Yatra, businessmen of Dharmanagri remained hopeless.

After the loss during the lockdown, traders were expected to start the Kanwar Yatra and do some business, but now the people are disappointed with the decision of the government. According to an estimate, the turnover of about 1500 crore rupees is certain. As the summer season started, travelers in Dharmanagri started to thicken. Every weekend millions of people used to visit Haridwar and Rishikesh. When the Chardham Yatra started, there was no place to set foot in Dharmanagri. When the rainy season started, the Chardham Yatra would light up, then the preparations for Kanwar would start. By the last week of June, Kumbhanagri started buzzing with the Kanwaris. This time Corona smashed everything. The Janta curfew took place on 22 March and lockdown from 23 March as soon as the summer season started. The lockdown destroyed every type of trade in Haridwar.
