Rajasthan: Group of Kanwaris reaching Kakaroli, greeted by floral showers

Rajsamand: In the holy month of Sawan, the Kanwar Yatra is organised from Guptaeshwar Mahadev at Kankaroli to Parashuram Mahadev. In this Kanwar Yatra, 200 Kanwaris will take a water festival of Lord Shiva at the temple during Mangala on Monday with a Kalash filled with Ganga water on their shoulders. The Kanwar yatra has reached Mahakaleshwar Mahadev Kankaroli from Udaipur for the first time.

Thousands of devotees danced to the tunes of DJs. After a group of Kanwaris arrived in the city, the city dwellers greeted the devotees of Baba Bholenath by showering flowers on the streets and intersections. Earlier, at 10 a.m., the grand Kawar Yatra left the Guptaeshwar Mahadev temple in Kankaroli. It will reach the Parshuram Mahadev Temple from Fountain Chowk via the city's Chowpatty, Bus Stand, Jalchakki Chowk, Kishore Nagar via Rajnagar Sadar Bazar.

During this visit, the Kanwaris will take a night rest at Kumbhalgarh. For information, Parashuram Mahadev Tirth is called the Amarnath of Mewar. Thousands of people from many parts of the state come here every year to offer prayers and every year these Kanwar Yatris are welcomed with the same enthusiasm.
